UoD: Image Processing Group of Debrecen, Faculty of Informatics, University of Debrecen, Hungary

IPGD is a research group at Faculty of Informatics, University of Debrecen. Debrecen is the second biggest city in Hungary with more than 100 years history of high-level education. The research activities in image processing started 20 years ago. IPGD has good co-oparations with other research groups in Hungary and abroad. The main activities of IPGD

ˇ        Face recognition, facial expression recognition

ˇ        Video-based traffic control

ˇ        Fingerprint-recognition

ˇ        Neighbourhood sequences and their applications in segmentation

ˇ        Support Vector Machines and their applications in image processing

ˇ        Talking heads

ˇ        Medical applications

CV of Prof. Attila Fazekas, MSc., PhD., Dr. habil.

He graduated from the Faculty of Sciences of  University of Debrecen, Hungary in 1992. In 1999 he obtained the PhD degree with thesis in field of digital image processing. Publications of Prof. Fazekas cover several areas of digital image processing. He is a member of the steering committee of Hungarian Association for Image Analysis and Pattern Recognition. His research activity was permanently enriched by coordinating several national and international grants related with digital image processing. Since 2000 he is assistant professor of Informatics, teaching several subjects of digital image processing, and computer sciences.
