AUDITE OEG

AUDITE specialises in the development of interactive installations for museums and exhibition centers and focuses on research and development in the fields of knowledge transfer, Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) and acoustics. AUDITE works on advanced representation and interaction technologies, aside from the standard human computer interaction paradigms, on physical and haptic interface technologies and on visual tracking interfaces. AUDITE has realised projects for various museums (e.g. Technical Museum Vienna, Museum Carolinum Augusteum Salzburg, Sound Tower St. Pölten,...) and created various innovative applications using different visualisation and interface technologies.

The advanced developments of AUDITE, such as interactive installations, VR/AR and acoustic systems, are continuously presented at the world’s largest conferences on computer graphics, interactive applications and acoustics, in example at SIGGRAPH (2002,2003,2004), EUROGRAPHICS (2003), ICMC (2005) and AXMEDIS (2005). In the field of acoustics, AUDITE has developed and patented a method that allows for the real-time rendering of realistic spatial acoustics with very low latency. AUDITE was one of the first to successfully combine both 3D-visualisation and 3D-acoustics within an application in order to enhance the realism of virtual worlds.

The experience of AUDITE regarding interface technologies includes VR/AR interfaces (Head Mounted Displays, tracking interfaces), physical objects as interfaces (project AudioCube: use of physical cubes for interaction), haptic interfaces and gesture interfaces (AUDITE iFUN: tracking of hands and feet for the interaction with a projection-based system).

Software development expertise in different programming environments ((Visual) C/C++, DirectX, Java, OpenGL,...) allows AUDITE the development of complex interactive applications and installations as well as professional products. The product AUDITE MCX Multi-Channel Mixer is professional audio product based on the patented 3D-sound calculation method that is to be launched on the European market in 2006. The latest development of AUDITE, iFUN, is an interactive installation with gesture interface (visual tracking) that is launched in October 2005 as an entertainment and advertising platform in seven Austrian cinema centers.

Extensive research and development in co-operation with different research institutes and universities (University of Karlsruhe, Austrian Institute for Artificial Intelligence, University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten, Technical University Vienna, University of Applied Sciences Hagenberg,...) helps AUDITE develop new techniques and products and facilitate the enormous technological possibilities in this area.

DI(FH) Daniel Dobler (m)

DI(FH) Daniel Dobler completed the course of study “Media Technology and Design” at Hagenberg University of Applied Sciences, Austria, with distinction. He is winner of the European Multimedia competition MB21-Young Media Productions.

DI(FH) Dobler presented an installation combining Augmented Reality and 3D-sound at the emerging technologies section of SIGGRAPH 2002 and at the Ars Electronica Festival. As a result, he was invited to attend an internship at the University of Central Florida, Orlando, where he developed a 3D-sound engine at the Institute for Simulation and Training which is now used in research projects in cooperation with the US Army and Canon.

DI(FH) Dobler is CEO of AUDITE and is teaching “Interactive Audio Programming” and “Multimedia Programming” at Hagenberg University of Applied Sciences.

DI(FH) Philipp Stampfl  (m)

DI(FH) Philipp Stampfl graduated from the “Media Technology and Design” program at Hagenberg Unviersity of Applied Sciences, Austria, with distinction.

DI(FH) Stampfl presented scientific papers and Virtual / Augmented Reality applications at SIGGRAPH 2002, SIGGRAPH 2003, SIGGRAPH 2004 and EUROGRAPHICS 2003 as well as on the Ars Electronica Festival.

During his work at the Viennese VR-company “Imagination”,  he developed a sound system for Austria’s largest interactive 3D-cinema at the Technical Museum Vienna.

DI(FH) Stampfl is CEO of AUDITE and is teaching “Interactive Audio Programming” and “Multimedia Programming” at Hagenberg University of Applied Sciences.
