B.4.1 Integrating activities

The monitoring systems in CARiMan are designed as distributed Computer Aided Monitoring Systems (CARiManS). The design and implementation of CARiManS involves specific aspects of system engineering and configuration, secure communications, data acquisition, processing, transmission and analysis, prognosis, risk management, methodologies as well as human-computer interfaces. The research activities of the CARiMan are oriented on the concept of the CARiManS and the components, as presented in Fig. B.3.1.

In order to better manage all these activities we will group them in 4 groups depending on the issues concerned:
