BrainScope und HeartScope have the same configuration: 

 

High performance multiprocessor systems are used for the required computer power. In the beginning, in 1988: 9 Z80, installed in two CAMAC crates, designed by the scientific device manufacturer of the Academy of Sciences in Rossendorf. Later are used Transputer systems, ideal designed for connected processor structures and flexible connections of processor notes. Now are used high performance PC-processors and / or Digital Signal Processors with special features for highest processor performance and connectivity (GRID).  

 

On this multiprocessor systems are connected special functional structures for optimal use. The performance of the multiprocessor system is designed in this way, that the signal processing and recognition is realized in real time. On the first level is realized the analysis of the single channels on the patented procedure of Virtual Sources (in German: Virtuelle Quellen – VQ) in the time domain. This method is a simulation of the human visual recognition system (as Human Like Perception System) and realizes the peak measurement. On the second level is realized the analysis across the channels using powerful image processing algorithms.  

 

The amplifier system is developed for the highest precision amplification of signals and is battery driven. It is in electrical isolation connected on the multiprocessor system. On this way we have a high security for the patients and an high signal quality

 

 

The evaluation-PC is the control-station of the physician. A graphical user interface realized the easy controlling of the system, the visual evaluation of the signals and VQ and the start of specific tasks as mapping, FFT or the selection and the start of defined psychological tests.  

The patient-PC is a multimedia-PC and is used for the stimulation. The selected psychological tests include acoustic or visual stimuli up to video-clips, controlled by data base tables. This tables are easy adapted to new tests including new stimulus material or other time courses.  

The real-time-PC is the data base server of the system.

 

Video-systems are integrated and connected to the system.
